TSC has had its share of lyric-guessing games. And though they are weird, none can compare to the one, the ultimate:
NUMERICAL LYRICS!!!
This game provides a double-challenge: to decipher the code AND guess the lyrics of the song in the code.
The rules of this game are very simple:
- Each letter is represented by its corresponding letter in the alphabet (for example, the code for A is 1, the code for B is 2, the code for Z is 26).
- Each letter is separated by a dash, and each word is separated by two spaces (for example, 6-21-3-11 15-6-6 decodes to…well, you figure it out).
- Punctuation is not coded (e.g. a comma is -,)
- Each individual round consists of the opening coded lyrics of a song (usually one verse or the first few line).
- The first person to post the right band receives 1 point
- The first person to post the right song receives 2 points
For example, here are the two opening lines of Northwest Passage by Stan Rogers, uncoded:
Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage
To find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea;
Here they are coded:
1-8-, 6-15-18 10-21-19-20 15-14-5 20-9-13-5 9 23-15-21-12 20-1-11-5 20-8-5 14-15-18-20-8-23-5-19-20 16-1-19-19-1-7-5
6-9-14-4 20-8-5 8-1-14-4 15-6 6-18-1-14-11-12-9-14 18-5-1-3-8-9-14-7 6-15-18 20-8-5 2-5-1-21-6-15-18-20 19-5-1-;
Enjoy! The first round is coming soon.
