Help with SADX
« on: February 03, 2010, 04:05:45 pm »
Hi. I've got multiple questions about some SA/SADX runs. I hope you can all help.

Video 1:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6faRYFBSOmo

1) Any tips for the jump at 0:10? I can't do it on command. It's something I do every 1 outta 5 attempts? Should I not touch the analog stick whilst doing the jump or something? Not sure why I'm not able to do it much.

2) How'd the jump at 0:48 happen? Jawzun didn't even start to spin dash, he sorta just done a big jump anyway lol.

3) I don't expect to be able to do this and will probably just stick to the loop trick, but how the **** did he do the crazy jump t 00:02? I also heard it's DX exclusive.

Video 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQ_7Xy3XCc8&feature=related

1) Any advice for this? I guess a lot of it is down to luck. To be honest I haven't tried this, but I heard a lot of people have trouble with this and that you don't touch the analog whilst doing the homing attack or something.

Video 3:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a1e6PY3NoE

1) Is this DC exclusive?

Video 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqzIWimHHT8&feature=related

1) I can't go through the door at 00:30. Is there a trick to it or is it exclusive to DC or GC or something? Not had any luck with this at all.

2) I've not tried the glitch at 1:28. Is it as simple as restarting as shown and you'll go away in the air, or is some requirements needed via controller and when to actually restart etc?

Video 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kvssLsTfj4

1) I can't do the jump at 00:56. There's some specific trick to it that I'm not aware of... :(

2) Jawzun charges the light dash thingy at 1:00. When do I release the B/X button? I think he releases it into the first spring or after he bounces off the second. Not sure at all though. I also heard this glitch is NTSC exclusive. True?

Video 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dmmCnNlzJo&feature=related

1) Are the two jumps at 00:04 and 00:07 out of the spin dash (a spinshot I think it's called?) or simply some trick I don't know? :(

2) What's happening at 01:05? Can't see since a wall is in the way :p. I think he's spin shotting.

Thankyou very much in advance. I really appreciate it. :)

Can't give a long explanation right now. But the jump at the very beginning of Emerald Coast is indeed GC only.
Final egg capsule is DC only.
the door glitch in lost world is doable in both versions I believe.
the windy valley glitch works on PAL and NTSC (I was using PAL on that video).

still can't believe what I did in 2007

Ok thanks Jawzun! :D

Hopefully you can explain the rest, when you're avaliable of course, since it's reeally appreciated :)

I tried the jump at 00:11 on video 1 on your EC run again today and had no luck lol. Was on DC. Not suree why I couldn't do it, I think it was me going wrong by moving the analog forward whilst spinshotting or something :(

the Ice cap thing.
I still don't know a way to get it done every time, sometimes I get it, and sometimes I don't. Just keep trying and you'll eventually get through the bridge.

The Lost World glitch is simple, just get to the panels activate them and stay on them, then restart.

The jump at 0:56 on Windy Valley is not very hard actually, you just need to get the timing and know the exact moment.
Release the light dash right after the second spring.

In Speed Highway, nothing special. Those jumps at the beginning are just normal jumps (yes, out of the spindash, but no rare tricks involved).
And yeah, I'm doing a spindash jump when the camera is off the place.

still can't believe what I did in 2007
