It's weirder to put the month first than second, logically speaking. In my opinion it makes sense to have the day, month and year in some order. Either ascending or descending. With Month/Date/Year it jumps all over the place whereas date/month/year goes from smallest to largest. Would you display a time as Hours:seconds:minutes?
