Nothing against scores; those will definitely be staying.

But do we really need to track ring counts?  So many of these are easily maxed, and even a bad quality run can tie one of these just as long as they don't get hit without shield at all.

Therefore, I find that these records aren't accurate measures of anything.

It's even worse in Adventure 1 and Advances, which have Random Ring Boxes--meaning that even identical runs will turn out differently, and Adventure 2, while not as bad, has system-related differences in ring count on virtually EVERY level, which not only means that you go through an incredibly safe, 12-minute-long path just to stand a chance (without even incentive to do it in 8), but that chance is taken away by owning the wrong system (I'd estimate each one is thrown out of contention on about 30%-40% of the levels).

Furthermore, it's easy to overlook the rules in this division, and find something that yields 999 rings...only to find that it's banned, making for lots of maintenance deleting random violatory submissions.

What do all of you say about it?

I think they should stay, but they should not be counted in the overall records, it is still fun to collect rings in games and see how well you do compared to others and its more of a "show off" type thing for some people.

Erm....I've kinda put my vote as 'yes' instead of 'no, I think ring records should stay...sorry...

EDIT: I might as well give a reason for my opinion:

1.- All the people who've already posted Ring Records, it'd mean they wasted their time.

2.- Its a unique challenge, Ring Attack is NOT easy to max out, it took me an hour to finish Final Chase Mission 1 with all those rings, its so easy to screw up at certain parts.

I don't really see the need for them, but now that they've been put up, it'd be silly to take them down when people put effort into getting them. I don't make the decisions though; that's why I'm not an administrator!

This poll gets 5 more days; if there's still a substantial majority for Yes, the records are wiped.

The records really should be kept, because so much time has been spent on them. Also, levels don't max out easily, as RPGnutter alredy mentioned. Finally, it offers a good competetive gameplay method that begginers have a shot at, unlike times where you need to master all the techniques of a level. However, I don't think rings should count towards the % or points that somebody has. But they should still be kept up.....

When people are counting up how many site records, most of the ones they count are ring records. I don't submit my ring scores, just cause I don't want to write them down and put them up. I don't really like them, and they're not much of a reflection of someone's skill. Just of someone's luck/...something else

I don't really have an opinion, I don't really like it. Do as you wish with it

13-11 is not decisive enough.  No action is taken yet, and the poll continues.

I've never entered any ring counts because it seemed like a bad idea to add this in the first place, anyway, you can guess what I picked, but I DO feel sorry for the people who passed so much time competiting with those...

I do agree with the first post, but also its something fun to do.  I wont be competing in ring counts as I dont find it remotely fun to do.  But there are people out there that do it other than times and scores.  I do think it should be removed from some games to keep it fair, or add it to freestyle.

I say keep the ring records. I'm probably never going to post any, but it's still cool to know how many rings you can get in a zone. Plus, you guys spend WAY too much time making these records. Getting rid of them would be a waste of time and effort.
