I was on IRC,and I was talking to people on chat rooms, and somehow it got to the subject of mario, and people started arguing about which was better. It was actually pretty close. Now, I adk you: Who do you like better? Mario? or Sonic? And not just the mascot. The games. and if you really feel like it, albinoblacksheep.com did a spin on that idea when Sega and Nintendo were serious competitors. if you want to see it, click here. warning:there is swearing and mild violence. Just in case you care about that stuff  ;)

Mario is okay, but Sonic games are so much more... fluid and free. Especially the 2D ones.

Agreed. Plus, Mario has an intense issue with his persona. I me, a badass plumber who fights a giant dragon/turtle? It's original, but it just doesn't click. But mario is ok. I liked Paper Mario and the Mario parties a lot.
