TEBC Discussion
« on: April 09, 2007, 09:02:10 am »
Yes, I am going against what people have said but this most likely will not be a seperate center, rather, a sub-grouping/sub-division of a larger sub-site as I've come to a couple of realizations about the potential it has.

Anyone interested in helping me?

Categories:

Normal (two sub-divisions: Clear Time, Watts), Challenges (all timed: x:xx), Score Attack, Time Attack, Eternal, Bosses

*Not sure about Eternal. Once I unlock it in the first mission, I’ll see if it should be added or not…
Update: I unlocked Eternal for like Mission 20 or so. Basically, what happens is there are no time limits and you can take as long as you like, going as you see fit to locate all of the level’s Elebits. You can quit at any point in the game and your scores are recorded. Each stage has a maximum amount of Elebits hidden in the stage. To determine this max and to get high on the tables will be very difficult for later levels as for some it’ll take more than half an hour to do, without question. But this makes it for great competition which is why I am adding the Eternal missions to the list.

Figured everything out on my own. All divisions and rulings (including item restrictions) are done. :)

Oh, while doing the charts, I thought of something: one portion of the community could be the Wii Friend Code Exchange as people can exchange friend codes and play each others levels from Edit Mode. I think it'll be a good idea.

Sorry guys, attachments still buggy. :(

In the meantime, would anyone like to sign themselves up with helping me of establishing this sub-site? Is there anyone else who has/has played this game and is familiar with how competition will work, the missions, etc.?

As is the case with my Blinx sub-site, I'm currently making a "banner" for this sub-site.
Details will appear upon completion.

I've been having thoughts on the sub-site and to appeal to a broader audience, I think I'll encompass other games by Konami like Kororinpa, Wing Island, DDR: Hottest Party (when it arrives), and potentially Dewy's Adventure. Thoughts?

The Konami Center
I've decided to stick with my thoughts and dub this the Konami center that will encompass Elebits, Kororinpa (surprisingly quite competitive), maybe Dewy's Adventure and DDR: Hottest Party.

Now, I guess I have to do the same as my PGC and find a "fanbase".

I would scrap the Konami center idea entirely and change your focus on DDR. From there, Spread to games like Guitar Hero, Donkey Konga, and well, you get the idea to make They Rhythm Center. You'd be surprised at how large the fan base for rhythm games is (although there would only be score competitions). I'd say TRC would probably be more promising than PGC.

So where is this strict rule that every fricking site needs to be a "center".

There's no rule that specifically states it. It's become more of a tradition since it is discussion of subsites of TSC.

I wouldn't say DDR is much for competing but I'd submit my Ultamix 1-3 scores. I would really like something with the Donkey Konga series. I have the second and the first is on my list.

I'd need to be very familiar with those games to be able to form a "Rhythm Center". As it stands, that wouldn't be a good idea, IMO, for me to develop. If someone else would like to get the ball rolling on that idea, be my guest. Besides, I'm sure someway I'd get rejected for that as well... But I digress...

I mostly want Elebits to be competed in but no matter how hard I try, it seems like I'm being rejected for like everything, even when I make other suggestions of encompassing other games. I'm remaining on "hiatus" for the Blinx idea since people are rejecting that as well. Does anyone have any suggestions for any of these? Cases in question are Blinx, Elebits and possibly others I've suggested like Billy Hatcher, Kororinpa maybe Wing Island. It would be nice to add other games for competition like Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam, Crash Bandicoot, and Cooking Mama (why not a whole center dedicated to Wii games?! XD jk). I'm also contemplating revisiting my ideas of a NFS Center.

And plus, I'm 100% sure DDR already has millions of established competitions randomly disperesed on the web, but that's just me.

F-Man, I just don't want to be the one to be "off" from the tradition as I've already recieved enough rejection as it is.

I wouldn't even bother with a "Rythm Center". Those games that don't already have very well established competition communities (which include DDR, Pump It Up, In the Groove, and Guitar Hero) are too varied and complicated for it to be wise to try to lump them into one site.

For the sake of re-emphasis, here are all the games in question:
-Blinx
-Elebits
-Billy Hatcher
-Donkey Kong
-Kororinpa
-Crash Bandicoot

Oh, and F-Man, I suggested another idea without the word "center" in it but that idea was rejected as well, naturally, so I guess I didn't want to stray from the formula too much after that. That being "The Mascot Alliance".

edit: Is anyone still interested in creating an Need-for-Speed sub-site?

I wonder if there are any communities dedicated to competitions in Ninja Gaiden. I know that series has a relatively large fan base and all four of the ones currently availible track time. There are two more NJ games coming soon and those will probably track time. All of them are focused enough (and possibly popular enough) to make a viable sub site if you want to run one (I know you really want to run one). For rules, the first three NES games will require you to not die since time resets if you do.

I'm still standing by my Konami Center idea, which would encompass only Wii games: that being Elebits (the game I care the most for), Kororinpa (quite competitive from what I've seen; if it'll be added I'll rent it for the sake of coverage), Wing Island (if applicable), Dewy's Adventure (if applicable), and maybe DDR:HP when it arrives.

Also, I'm sticking by my idea for a Blinx Center as noone else has any suggestions.
