News and Updates / Re: New Heaven, New Earth. Introducing a new site rule

So does every previous first place record need to get a video uploaded to it? No grandfathering?

News and Updates / Re: New rules regarding emulators

The convenience is being argued on games that don't support it, I believe. To do the Sonic Advance 2 special stages would take a lot of effort right now on console, but if it were to be released on the Wii U Virtual Console then it would give us save states making it much easier.

I have no problem with banning emulators completely and only allowing official releases. Even if the official release is a Game Gear game played on a 3DS using the save state to begin the level over and over again without getting to the level each time.

Why is a good chunk of the community against banning emulators?

Since no emulator is perfect, wouldn't there be minute differences in all games played with one?

There is a story mode in Pinball Party. The last (or second to last?) level is a bugger. You need to play through all the stages without losing to pass it. The story is a tournament in the game. Sonic plays against so and so to get a score before time is up or something like that.

Also it's a way for us to get more attention. Just going through a bunch of Sonic games isn't that hard. Having the best Sonic speed runners flying through the games would be much more interesting.

When you have enough games to last a normal person a week, it's a good idea to go fast.

I suppose I could do something or another. I've got every Sonic game on Nintendo systems and a capture card. I've also got the site http://www.blueblur.org/ which may have some use for getting the idea out in a years time or whatnot.

Competition Central / New competition for Sonic the Hedgehog with spin dash?
« on: July 30, 2006, 04:26:19 pm »
With the release of Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis for the GBA, do you think we'll be able to stick up a new chart or something? The GBA version will be a remake of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Genesis, except it will include the Spin Dash move and a save feature.

Competition Central / Sonic Rush speed runs will be...funner?
« on: November 01, 2005, 09:16:34 pm »
Now I've got several things to say...
The DS online will be free as long as you have a wireless router. (first party games for now. Nothing is known about the third party)
On November 7th, www.nintendowifi.com will be updated with all the info you'll need.
On November 14th, Mario Kart DS will be released, making the DS go online.
Sonic Rush is said to come out on November 15th.
My birthday is November 13th. I know what I want. ;)
I've had a DS since it's launch, November 21, 2004. I'll have plenty of speed records for this game made after I play through it a bit and have fun.
This site needs to be updated more. I want to watch more movies.
Uh...more stuff and stuff.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_Rush
On wiki, it's been said:
"According to a recent interview with Yuji Naka, he stated that Sonic Rush will support Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, by allowing players to upload their gameplay session, and allow others to download them to compete against."
Won't that be way past cool?
