General Sonic / Sonic Boom - Fight For Cancer - Charity Stream
« on: November 10, 2014, 12:55:12 pm »
Hello mark your calendars for Nov. 15th at 1 PM

My organization Dreamscape Foundation (www.dreamscapefoundation.com) has sponsored a event hosted by 'FindTheComputerRoom'. The event is a charity stream of Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric on November 15th 2014; the stream's objective is to raise money for a  3-year-old girl, Emily Monroe, who was diagnosed with cancer. Throughout the evening we will be joined by special guests, raffles and gameplay of the 'Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric'. Please join us in supporting The Monroe Family as we fight for Emily as a community. Emily and her family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Emily has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, which is is the most common extracranial solid cancer in childhood. Nearly half of neuroblastoma cases occur in children younger than two years. No child should experience this kind of illness and we are all truly heartbroken. In order to help with any financial burden that the family will encounter, please visit Emily's GoFundMe  page to support her.

Special Guests:
FTCR has reached out to people involved with the Boom initiative and were able to have  Mike Pollock, voice of Dr. Eggman. Ian Flynn who is writing for the comic,  Evan Stanley who penciled the first two issues of the comic. and Cindy Robinson the voice of Amy Rose.

Laptop Raffle:
To help raise more funds for Emily Dreamscape Foundation donated a brand new 'Dell Vostro Laptop' to raffle to those who donated $20 or more dollars to Emily's Go Fund Me page.

We will also be raffling off Sonic posters and art as alternative prizes.

He will be playing multiple platformers, but mainly Sonic!

Please come and support the channel! All proceeds going into the channel will go to support children and families impacted by rare disabilities and disease.

Our partnership has been activated, waiting the 3 biz days.

Hello everyone!

Since last time I reached out to this community, I went ahead and felt it was easier to begin my own streaming channel.

My charity has also gained tax exempt 501c3 status and can operate nationwide.

My streaming channel is yet to be released, but I have got a partnership lined up with Twitch and I am ready to go.

To start out we are going to have 3-4 regular streamers I already have 2 PC gamers and I need few people to help play action adventure/platform (Sonic =D).

If you do stream, you can stream 1 to 2 times a week playing Sonic to start ( and others games, which will be explained)

If you are willing to help out on a weekly basis you will get a cut of the subscriber money, while my cut and all donations go directly to my charity and ACS, who I have developed a cooperative relationship with!

If you are interested in helping feel free to reach out to me either on the forum or on PM!

kind regards everyone.

News and Updates / Re: TSC Marathon 2014

Hello Jsonicguy. Unfortunately we already discussed what charity to go with this year. Also I wanted to go with a cancer charity again for personal reasons.

Spoken to the majority of people on here and most of them have said either cancer charity or don't mind. So yeah going with cancer charity again.

I usually do a lot of my marathon sorting out on skype, since I have the majority of runners on my contact list. Any decisions that have been reached I do post in here for everyone to see. So yeah I'm very sorry we can't go with your charity this year :(

SDM: I know you were trying to help, but for future reference when it comes to discussing important events, just tell the person to see whoever is in charge and leave it there.

Hello Flying Fox, thank you for your response. I perfectly understand that it is too late in the process and I completely respect you have chosen the selected charity for personal reasons.

However If you ever want to plan a separate charity event I would love to take part of it and work together with you, so let me know!

And SpinDashMaster made it clear that you called the shots! and we were just discussing some ideas! No need for any confusion:).

G'luck for at TSC 2014:)

Hope everyone has a great day

Those are all really cool ideas!

I like the bidding for the music that seems fun.

For the artwork idea I was thinking of giving people something tangible as well ( if they respond to that of course) like a Sonic themed Poster I can send out for people who donated "X amount or more"

If you go to my website, I am actually holding a poster of sonic I did, as a example.

But that is just a idea from me, If I am able to do this with the Sonic Center I would be willing to use any of my resources to help create donation incentives and rewards.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to visit us, Joe!

I'm not exactly sure how everyone else feels, and I'm of course in no position to make the call, but I'm pretty sure most of us who are participating wouldn't mind switching over to your charity, since we didn't have much of a better idea besides ACS.

That said, schedules might be written fairly soon. If you actually do want to take up one of the marathons yourself, you should get in touch with Flying Fox, by sending her a PM or visiting the chatroom while she's online.

She may very well see this thread and reply before you get the chance, though. :P

Hello SpinDashMaster!

Thank you for taking the time out to reply!

I am really interested in doing a event like this, and I thought what a better place than the Sonic Community right? (since I love Sonic!)

And since The Sonic Center has had experience with these types of events I wanted to reach out.

Thanks for the tip, I actually PM'd when I posted this so hopefully she reaches out as well.

Question, in the past what kinds of Donation incentives did Sonic Center do? If any.

A cool idea I was thinking that might be fun is, I design a lot of artwork for my charity, when I first did a fundraisers I was able to reach 5K with artwork alone.

I can send 8 X 10 artworks to everyone who donates, that was a idea I had off the top of my head.

Looking forward to work with this community:D

Hello!

I specifically made a account to ask a question regarding your charity runs,

My name is Joe, and I am a huge Sonic the hedgehog fan.  I became legally blind back in 2012 and playing video games became extremely difficult. (However I still manage to make my way through a Sonic game with much effort) I started my own charity that raises awareness and funds for  individuals with rare disabilities and disease.
It has recently been approved by state government to operate as a charity and soon to be 501c3.

I was wondering if we could work together on one of your Marathons, I would love to work with you guys and will help provide donation incentives.

I thought it would be a fun and unique idea and I love what you guys do and I love Sonic!

If you want to learn more about myself and my charity please visits, www.dreamscapefoundation.com

EDIT : Also please do not hesitate to reach out to ask me any questions about myself and or the charity I would glady answer.
