i don't think this works outside of emulators, so it's probably banned for competition. Hm...I think it'd be a fun addition to freestyle mode, honestly.
Just a few things - Collecting a Giant Ring is impossible - Getting one emerald gives you all Chaos Emeralds and freezes the game when you try going Super. You cannot deposit Emeralds in Hidden Palace because the game will freeze. You cannot complete Hidden Palace because the game will freeze (unless there's some glitch I don't know about...).
I've found a savestate on my drive that only has Blue Knuckles and none of the slowdown if anyone wants to experiment.

As for application - Mostly it's just Knuckles starting in Sonic's starting area, yet still being able to easily access his own routes.

I tried out the spinning top and kept getting blue screen o' death on genesis...or stuck in loopback. Does that save come with a lightning shield? (I think I know what you're talking about but I'm not 100% sure)

I've deleted accounts before, and I've always regretted it. Unless you have a stalker, I really advise against it for varying reasons. You might have some fans you don't even know about, (as I found out when I erased my youtube) but I don't know the full story, so...whatever.

I'd say with the release of Sonic 4 Episode 2 that this could have some initial popularity, but would it have staying power? I'd love to be able to pair up with someone for some Sonic 2/3&K runs as well (I believe emus support netplay, or I could just control Tails with my foot). It'd be a nice place to go for people disheartened that certain games don't allow co-op. I'm expecting a lot more glitched runs though.

Leave the starting time zone as a user option - It will add a bit more strategy into the mix, such as figuring out which time is optimal for the start of a run (similar to finding optimal starting points in S3&K, like right before a huge wallzip).
As for level select sending you back, I have a...half-hearted solution: TA the acts that come prior to the ones you wish to RA? I don't know how that will go over, but that's what I usually do.

So I recently did a full runthrough of Sonic 3 & Knuckles and *somehow* got the game to lock up so badly it reset, slowed down the gameplay, sped up the music, unlocked Blue Knuckles, and turned Tails' name to Miles (no game genie or anything). I did this on an emulator and was wondering if it's possible to do this on either Sega Genesis or a remake such as Mega Collection. Every time I attempt the glitch on actual hardware, the game just freezes.
A side note - If you haven't played the game with Blue Knuckles, you're missing out on one of the most mindboggling runs ever. (I've got some savestates of it if anyone wants to check it out.)

Someone named Zeupar off of cyberscore recommended I post my scores here. Been looking around a bit and omg stanski is on here?! Must be a pros site! I don't consider myself anywhere near great at sonic games, but I do love them to death. I might hold off on submissions for a while, since I have no idea how to record directly off a Genesis and my computer's too slow to record emulators :(
