Competition Central / Sonic Unleashed PS3/360- Tutorials?
« on: September 23, 2013, 09:23:47 am »
Hello Everyone!
For a while now i had the idea to make a really huge tutorial video.
Basically for every stage all shortcuts, tricks & glitches that are useful for speedrunning.
Theres tons of stuff out there already, however people that are new to the game need
to learn a lot and don't always know how to do stuff.
I just wanted to know if people are interested in it and if you want to support me doing it!
Please leave me some feedback!
with best regards
Millernus

It would be great to have the Mission Charts in unleashed. It would be great to implement
the stat verification requirements(Photo, video) for Rank 1. But thats maybe not ultimativly needed.

I personally like the Idea of attaching a Video for the red and platinum stats.
I attach a Video almost everytime, where i think its necessary, when im in this section. Sometimes people forget that and you can still find these on their channels.
Proofing a stat is not difficult, if you really did it. Exceptions could be things that are pure
luck or really hard tricks. An example could be the BJG in Apotos Act 2 in Sonic Unleashed. This would need further investigation and more time for proofing.
For Emulators its not too hard running a camera or getting a capture programm.
A livestream on the sites frontpage would be extremly awesome. I think it should be evaluated
which people are allowed to stream on the site and the conditions to it.
I don't use Twitter or Facebook but i guess this could help bring more competitors/viewers to this site.
For the old videos that are replaced with new records from the same person there should be the possibilty of removing it from. I have still some old videos that are void.
@Umbreon i would personally only submit less(and i don't submit that much either way) if i would have to give proof for EVERY stat. Everything else is fine for me

Welcome Sonicisa1Directioner!
It's great to see you here at TSC, i hope you will submit alot and make some good videos :)
You submitted a guide for SU360 that is the beginning of my video i submitted to TSC a while ago.
I would like to ask you to write a completly new Guide not based on my video or remove it.
You could've asked me before you submit an almost "quote" of my video.
I'm not the one who likes to rant about something like this, i give you some time to think about it,
however i'm against the approval of this guide.

Thank you and have a nice time here at TSC

I'm training Unleashed on PS3 right now, I can stream no problem however,
a speedrun of the full game is impossible for me. The run is ~ 3Hours and for now
i can do the first hour pretty well.
Maybe in the future i could stream then.

Hiya Folks / Re: Here comes a new challenger
« on: December 17, 2012, 09:00:05 pm »
Well actually its pretty simple.
"Find the position where sonic begins to walk slowly"
HOLD that position
and reach the "red" speed on the speedgauge
- Either through QSS, Stomping, snake drifting or just plain boost.
let go of boost and jump WHILE holding that position.

I think the same way like you Umbreon, that's why i try to make videos for every stat thats a record or close to it. It's entertaining to watch, it proofes your stat and it can be advertising for TSC as well.
If you have no recording device i guess then it would be nice to make at least a photo, screenshot or something similar.
A suggestion from my side would be that the first 3 place have to have proof,
or when the stat seems iffy. like the previous was for example 01:30:xx and the new one is 01:05:xx
then it obviously needs proof.
Well but im not the one who decides this its just a suggestion.

@ Danieldude, well i did a QSS tutorial, and one S-rank tut already and im working on an M-speed tutorial for Sonic Unleashed. If its needed ill post them here on TSC, the normal way however is that you search on yt first.
Ask people to do some, some people will do this for sure if its needed.

Competition Central / Re: Sonic Generations Speed Glitch Execution Dispute
« on: August 20, 2012, 03:45:28 am »
Well my controller is worn out as well, but i can still do it with a new controller easily, i dont mind if the glitches get banned altogether.
However i think that banning it will result in killing the competition at all.
Seperate charts could be a solution.
But the online charts are already broken.
Aitamen had a good point as long as the input is human then its OK.

27000+ is easily doable. In the beginning on the board you can hit 3 enemies and still enter the red ring. Its diffcult to even hit it :P. I don't know if my route is perfect but its good at least. and after the trick ramp without the board you can still boost back and kill the enemies left before those 2 red bumpers.
so all in all my guess with a perfect run is now 28k somethin'
