I think you'll have too many charts that way. It'll take a miracle for the game to crack 30 players; nobody's going to bother submitting for four characters on the same course.

I would.
Don't assume.

Nice job in organizing the charts, guys.

The chances of SBK going without leaderboards were never particularly high. I merely was leaving the option open and gauging opinion in the event that the leaderboards were actually viable, with a sufficient range of charts (and no cheating potential) such that people wouldn't want to take the time to submit on TSC anyway.

Many people who don't have Wi-fi access would. And there would be some who still would even if they did.

Not as absurd as how the mission system was set up in SatSR. lol.
Treasures are luck-based? I can see what you mean.

Rankings Mode apparently puts a cap on some bonuses. I was unable to scalp for infinite Air Masters, since it stopped showing up after 5-6 times. If there's no cap on perfect hits though, then it's still broken.

Really? Interesting. Have you unlocked any Timed Challenges?

Still, it's undeniable that the game has Replay Value just like SatSR did.

SRA was added because the online leaderboards were deficient. SBK will be added because the online leaderboards are deficient. I don't know anything about SRZG so I can't comment there.

By 'status screen' I meant 'results screen', so I'll edit that. I don't own the game, but as I understand it, there's nowhere to check your final time.

THAT'S what confused me, was your wording. Cause I know that on some missions, it doesn't show on the Results Screen. If you had said Results, I wouldn't have said what I said above.

I still don't get how online leaderboards should impact whether or not a game should be added...

Wait, that's SHORT?!?!  There's more missions there than Secret Rings.  Nine more IIRC.  I don't see how this could possibly be that short.  Even if the missions themselves are as short as I've seen in videos so far, I think this will still take longer to complete than Secret Rings.  Unless there's no rank system.

Exactly. Too many people are complaining without realizing the amount of Replay Value the game has.

* Ranking System (all 5 Stars).
* Getting all Followers
* Legacy Stages
* Vault
* Online Rankings and Challenges
* All Treasures
* All Skills
* All Characters (in Single & Multi)

Not to mention Speed Runs.
I can see this being longer than SatSR for sure. And it's not like SatSR was terribly long either. The story could be beaten quite quickly for an experienced player. I guess maybe this was realized (especially since many had trouble on certain missions) and that's why they tailored the game to more... "inept" players. XD j/k. But it would make sense as to why they made the game a tad easier.

On that note, I think one should explore the rankings mode more proficiently before presuming it can be broken.

Big deal.  None of the Genesis-era games tracked times, and if someone glitches to get a better time on a newer game, they still need to write down their non-glitch time anyways.  And Unleashed doesn't have scores, and SSR shouldn't have scores.  Yeah no, I don't see a problem.
EDIT: Just read the "no time on status screen" part.  Eh, maybe tracking times using the time with the highest score could be interesting anyways?

EXACTLY why I was upset when I saw Rolken's news post. Doesn't make any sense.
And the whole principle of "Oh! The game has online leaderboards so we're not adding it" is non-sensical at all since SRA and even SRZG were added. Makes no sense AT ALL. >_>

And since it doesn't show your time on the status screen either....

Uh... yes it does.

I don't get how this should affect stat tracking at all (for times specifically; scores I can understand perfectly fine).

Guys, I've found my camera! :D
Now I can get to some of these requests (I have others to do as well).

RE: DDRHP2 Request: AAA a song on Difficult you mean? Could this also apply to HP1?
RE: SMBBB Request: I haven't even passed that stage ONCE! :(

I'll take the liberty of updating the games list in the first post.

Competition Central / Re: itt Most AntiRecords is getting passed around!
« on: January 02, 2009, 01:23:01 pm »
Yeah, I had it. What of it?

The reason why it was being passed around is because all my stats were removed.
Most anti-stats was partly because I was just trying Sonic games (some, not srsly for TA'ing exactly) and so, I just submitted my stats without worrying about people mocking me or what have you. I still could care less if I got the record back again. I'll gradually work to get rid of it, I suppose.

Glad there's support for this except I already made a thread on this and I was shot down. Just to be sure, I made a thread recently to have one last ditch effort of proposing MSOG and SST but no dice...

And yeah, I had charts and everything.

*BUMP*
What's with SEGA and Trademarks?
http://www.siliconera.com/2008/12/31/seriously-sega-whats-with-all-these-dreamcast-trademarks/

This is great to see.

There was a rumor by my (mostly reliable) source a while back that stated that ChuChu Rocket is in development for Wii (and maybe DS?). This may re-affirm that. If that's the case, then I got a GREAT feeling about this:

They're either going to:
(A) Bring classic DC Games to Wii like what Nintendo is doing with the new Play on Wii series.
(B) Have a Dreamcast Collection (like Sonic Mega Collection).
(C) Revive these games specifically for Wii. Like how Nights and Samba de Amigo (both on Dreamcast) got remade for Wii.

There's a REALLY GOOD chance this'll happen. And I hope it ends up being C.

Don't forget, Virtual-On, and Jet Set Radio got re-trademarked also. I'd say that's a good sign, wouldn't you?

Cool. I'll add it to my list. Any others?
My camera's still missing. I'm going crazy! XD
SJ, just to clarify, could you go into a little more detail for what specifically you want to see? And what are you asking me to do, just run through them, get a good time, or what?

Allow me to attract GS' attention with a friendly bump, Kitsune. Hope that helps. I think it would be a neat idea too but then that begs the question... what about other games...?

Never said that. It's just... I (still) want to compete in both games. But I used that to support my case a bit.

Competition Central / ITT we reconsider two games for competition
« on: December 21, 2008, 12:46:09 am »
I just wanna confirm something. Was anything ever decided for SEGA Superstars Tennis and MSOG?
They're both Sonic games as far as I'm (and other people are) concerned.

Is there a reason why they're not being added or were things just never decided?

Don't pull the whole "not competitive enough" route since that is so not true for MSOG.

General Sonic / Re: Sonic Shuffle Re-Trademarked!

The main reason I loved it so much was for the mini-games. If you keep an open mind about it, it's a great game. There's a wide variety of mini-games and many of them are gems you'd replay over again.

and yes, the game is bashed horribly. Second-most bashed game as far as I'm concerned, next to S06 of course.

Knowing what a big fan I am, I'd get it also.

However, notice what I read on TSS (post):
""If Shuffle IS going to be ported/remade, no one can stop Sega from doing that. I'm guessing it's going to be released in a certain compilation that I've heard about from an inside source (narf, no I'm not saying anymore :]), so I do expect I will buy the disc this game is on regardless if I specifically want SHUFFLE or not."

Hmmm... certain compilation? Imagine if it was Best of Dreamcast compilation or something for Wii. Well, any compilation by SEGA for Wii would be welcomed since there aren't any thus far.

@SkyLights: What's your problem? *someone in the bkgd answers: "So many things..." *shot* XD
@Aitamen: We can hope. Don't worry. I've waited too long for this. XD I'm not prepared to let it go up in flames. Even if it was just remade I'd be happy. Shuffle's mini-games were awesome.

I want this game really badly. Just wondering what are everyone's thoughts on this version of Sonic Unleashed. As soon as my dad's 360 is fixed, I'm so getting this.

Does it surprise you that I'm the one who's bringing you this juicy info? :O

I'm still in disbelief but... see for yourself:
http://www.destructoid.com/sonic-shuffle-re-trademarked-by-sega-could-be-nothing-114872.phtml

This may mean nothing but let's I hope it's something!
If they DO bring Sonic Shuffle back and/or make a sequel, I'd be so happy. I'd be re-assured that they HAVE listened all these years. The Wii is the perfect opportunity to bring it back. I've always said that. I just hope my hopes aren't dashed to pieces but if they are, serves me right for setting myself up. XD It's just so close... At least they THOUGHT about Sonic Shuffle. That alone I'm happy about. :P

It's funny... just the other day I snagged the championship after finally realizing that Shuffle charts do exist.

Get those preconcieved notions out of your head. The Wii version is NOT crappy.

And RingRush, I can't wait for the Unleashed charts to go up! This is like when we first brought SatSR charts up. Thsoe were good times. Heh.

*ks8 is dying for Unleashed 360*

Oh and might I add that I'd like to retract my earlier comment: In missions, there is enough time to *quickly* spot your stat. But are they worth adding, is the question? Some aren't (like EggmanLand TA1) but some are as they have new areas of the stage that weren't seen in the Goal mission (like in Adabat, for example).

Thoughts, then?
