It is on the left side. Try to make top 20. I didn't :(

It's alright. It's 2d. In the flash game, a big bullet does the same damage as jumping. It's a good balance of jumping and shooting and has its fair share of platforming.

Getting a gun seemed so useless at first. And it suffers from a syndrome that I feel most 2D Sonic games suffer from these days, in that you can't see enough on screen. Maybe it's to do with the size of Advance screens... I dunno.

It's pretty silly and regular platformy, rather than Sonic game platformy.

It also suffers from a syndrome of most 3D Sonic games, in that the biggest danger is falling down the pits everywhere.

Also after playing through the 3 Advance games again this week, I can attest that the level design is a worse enemy than the screen size, especially on 2.

-The small screen size in the 2D Sonics (seems to be addressed in Sonic Rush) is at its worst in the Game Cube ports of the Game Gear games. For example, Sonic 2 has the outer edges of the normal view (as seen in the Sonic Olympics trailer) cropped and the stuff remaining blown up to replace the loss, making it hard to scout ahead when makeing key jumps (i.e. the first boss). (If you don't believe me, play the S2 that comes with SA:DX and then compare it to the orignal version.)
Ever know what its like to get pwned by a book? Sonic certainly does.

Um, no.
It's the original Game Gear versions on the GCN, not the Master System versions.

The Master System versions of the games have a larger screen (what with being on a tv and all), but apparently have fewer colours. The Game Gear versions (which are on SGC, SMC+, and SA:DX) have a smaller screen (duh) and apparently have a few more colours (not sure if the colour thing is true). Also in at least one of the games there is a big level difference between the two versions.

Can someone post a little summary about the Master system? Every time I read something about some Master version, I get sort of lost since I'm not famililar with it. Thanks.
Anyways, that flash game wasn't very impressive.

Master System is a console version of the GameGear. It's also a PAL system IIRC and it didn't come out here in the US and we got GameGear instead. I can't think of anything else. D:
Chaos Emeralds: Yellow, Red, Green, Blue and Purple.
Keys: Light Blue.

Actually, I think the Master System came out in the US. Think of the Game Gear as the Nomad to the Master System's Genesis.

The GG had a larger color pool in that the SMS had 256 possible colors, whereas the GG had 4,096. Both could only display 32 at a time, though.

Odd that the GG would use two bytes for the palette but only use three-quarters of it. Must be some reason though.

Anyways, thanks for the clarification Rolken.
