I know SA's glitchyness and camera are bad, but they're nothing compared to SA2.
Maybe it's just because I'm not as familiar with it, but still, it's bad.
Switching between rails is just messed up, there's no Free Camera
(at least SADX had one most of the time), Sonic sometimes waits until it's too
late before responding to a press of the A button (on those bar things
that he swings around), and the B button is terrible.
(No, wait. The B button deserves its own complaint section.)
When I try to get a line of rings, Sonic just decides that he wants to do a somersault,
or even worse, a bounce attack that just happens to send him down into a pit.
When I try to do other moves near rings, it makes him go toward them.
The spindash is way too slow, and I don't know why SEGA would put in that somersault.
It's just a slower spindash. The spindash could have smashed boxes and
squeezed through small places if SEGA had just left the fun and realism in.
(influenced by Zelda games, maybe? THIS IS NOT A SLOW ADVENTURE GAME!)
Because Sonic loves the stupid somersault so much,
he does it when he should be playing the Mystic Melody.
Finally, he does the same stupid move while near items that can be lifted.
Getting back on topic...
Thanks, mike89, sonicam, and magnum12.
I've been playing Sonic Drift a bit, and I'm planning to try a bunch of other games later.
Also, I've been playing SA for rings, scores, and boss times. (I should also do Twinkle Circuit.)
too bad I have nothing to do with this speedrun video...
