It's a surprisingly good pokemon-like game for the gameboy color that isn't bad because of broken team combinations, and is actually fun because of randomly generated dungeons. No one monster is overpowered because you can always breed it with something else to produce another monster with better skills and stats, or your opponent could produce a powerful counter for that monster with breeding (I'm not sure, but I think that you can battle over link cable; I do know that you can mate monsters over link cable and get twins).

Currently stefan, RPG, and myself are all playing it, RPG having played the most because I felt like sleeping. Stefan is in some silly early dungeon like Village or Talisman, and I just cleared F class and hatched my Sky Dragon egg.

If enough people got into this, then we could compare crazy breeding combinations (there are over 40000), strategies, and hilarious experiences while sitting around the campfire and eating marshmallows.

I just cleared the Gate of Memories, and the boss there is meh. Most of the boss characters just have good looking stats while sucking in practice.

My current party is:

SkyDragon (level 10)
Anteater (level 10)
Gremlin (level 9)

I'm thinking of breeding my Gremlin with my Anteater after both get a full set. The main problem with the Anteater is the lack of decent skills, while the Gremlin has good skills but weak stats. With the Gremlin as the pedigree, I could get the best of both worlds.

But I might just breed the boss of the Memories gate with my Gremlin instead.

Sounds fun, I should search for it sometime.. That DQ game involving slimes and their "tank" is at the top of my priorities though (if it comes to the states). Reminds me of the Moster Arena from DQ8 (recently finished it and got the true ending). Cleared the S rank competition of it with this team.
1. Hell Gladiator (Zombie class, primary attacker)
2. Cure Slime (Slime class, healer)
3. Living Statue (Material class, tank)

I too have an amusing mating story.

Breed a TreeFace with an Iceman for a monster that is awesome in stats and skillz.

I also bred my anteater with a spotslime to get a Tonguella, but so far I am dissapointed.

I'm thinking of breeding my TreeFace/Iceman hybrid with a Demonite. Imagine the combination. A monster with powerful skills that can actually use them.

RPG asked me to try the breeding function with a picky as the pedigree and a minidrak and take a snapshot. I got a Wyvern (see the attached file below for picture and level 1 stats)



Also, may I note that 10 is the minimum breeding level, just in case you guys need to know. When you can reach the bottom of the tree, talk to the wizard man in the second room at the bottom of the stairs and he can breed.

Anyways, I combined a SkyDragon with a BullBird for an insanely powerful monster today. It has crazy-high attack and speed. My Gremlin+Minidrak breed has insanely high intelligence and powerful moves. Eventually, I see these two forks combining later on to MAKE THE ULTIMATE MONSTER.

Additionally, I take back anything bad I said about Tonguellas, because they get a move that does the damage of a normal attack and puts the enemy to sleep, as well as inheriting Squallhit.

Also, I call that we list what we've bred so far and the results.

Anteater+Spotted Slime=Tonguella (see above)
Iceman+FaceTree=Something or other (it has insanely high MP and intelligence)
CatFly+Picky (I think...)=Bullbird (I loved this thing)
Sky Dragon+Bullbird=something (it has a strong skillset and high stats)
Gremlin+MiniDrak=AgDemon (great skillset and casting ability)

I'm planning on cross-breeding my AgDemon with my somethingorother to produce a high intelligence monster with a large ammount of mp. Then I'm going to cross that with a Demonite to get the cool spells. Genius.
