Halloween Topics! 2: Creepiest Song/Soundtrack/Music Video
« on: October 28, 2015, 06:27:00 am »
Welcome back to Halloween Topics! This is topic 2, get ready for #3 tomorrow!

We're gonna stick with our theme of spooky things, at least for now, so, that being said, today's question is; what's the most terrifying song/soundtrack/music video you've listened to/watched?

Hill zone from Sonic.exe No, that's too cliche. Plus I used that game yesterday, let's use something else. I'd go with the intro soundtracks SomeOrdinaryGamers on YouTube use for their videos. The guy who makes the videos does lots of things with creepypastas and playing scary/creepypasta games, and his intros do a good job of setting the mood, and most of the time it's pretty eerie.

Now then, what eerie song or video do you think is the most terrifying thing ever?

Tomb of the Ancients from Rayman 2. I choose that one, because I can't think of any other spooky songs (I guess...).

Mystic Mansion from sonic heroes is probably one of my favorite spooky themes of all time

Trail of Blood from Final Fantasy VII (by Nobuo Uematsu). Very fitting for when you hear it.

Some other soundtracks I heard in the game that have scary themes are the Hang castle stage music in Sonic Heroes and the title screen soundtrack of Ty 3 Night of the Quinkan.

The creepiest song in my opinion goes to K.K. Dirge from the Animal Crossing series. Whilst 99.9% of the games are happy and lively, that one song is truly terrifying and and feels completely out of place. It's very unnerving and unsettling to listen to, even during the middle of the day.

"My heaven" by Akira Yamaoka is pretty creepy. There is also Lavender Town's theme, of course...

Ah yes, the many creepy themes of Lavender Town, I think the 8-bit one from the first gen Pokemon games is the creepiest.

I never really found Mystic Mansion's music spooky. I think it's really cool, actually, the way it's broken into six different 16-second loops and shifts between them as you move through different parts of the stage.

Final Fantasy VII has two very creepy songs, Those Chosen By The Planet and the already mentioned Trail of Blood. Icy Jaws from Xenogears is also very unsettling. It only plays a couple of times, but the times it does play concern very disturbing twists in the plot.

The music from Haunted Hallway in Donkey Kong Country 2 is spooky as well even if it is ripping off a classical composition (Night on Bald Mountain). I love that game but I hate that stage.

The one that creeps me out the most is Lavos' Theme from Chrono Trigger. To this day I can remember playing the game for the first time and watching what happened the first time that music played.
My life needs a rewind/erase button.

THIS. I was absolutely horrified the first time I heard that part about 3 minutes in. Atleast around 2:30 you get a short break.
Maybe something like Ikana Valley from majoras mask would work too though
I love to love love.
