So the rules for the games which I'm referring to say that "Scores must be attained in a single continuous run (without deaths)." Now that rule indicates that if you die at all in the run, then your score is invalid. However in this stage:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwuCGNQwZH0 it is impossible to not die, without going into a special stage first (it was a Sonic 3 bug for tail's only, which was fixed when locked onto Sonci and Knuckles). I was told that the rule meant you cannot carry your score over the death, so say I'd killed an enemy, got 100 points, then died and respawned at the checkpoint, I would have to subtract those 100 points from my score.
This is where I'm puzzled, and feel that with that logic this strat should be allowed
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Noh1ZFJjPq0&list=UUrv6z1_Mk8p5b_2D87O1WEwIt's possible to sub 30 with that, which would give a time bonus of 80k points, which would smash the record. However iirc when this guy did get sub 30 and 80k bonus, his stat was removed (time is removed because you have to use time attack mode), but I feel the score should be allowed if the same logic is applied that was for the Ice Cap stat.
EDIT: A death is also used in Angle Island 2 as any character, to go back to act 1, an example video is here:
http://youtu.be/KLHmxBi8jf0 In the video I start at the checkpoint, the death was prior to the video start.
This is different to the Ice Cap death in one way, Ice Caps is unavoidable. This one is avoidable in order to beat the stage.
