Now, I just realized that Sonic Advance 2 has an option at the options menu for easy mode. Now, unless the times aren't saved in that mode, or if it makes no true difference, freestyle should be added because of it, or the rules should be ammended to state you can't use easy mode for the game. I just wanted to point that out.

Time Attack is always in hard mode.

So, if you follow the guidelines and use Time Attack, no problem.
