Yeah, I've gotta agree with Minus. So far, the only disadvantage I see the Wii having is its grainier graphics.
The moon is so red. Looks like it's going to be a fun night.

I'm noticing a pattern with the wii levels and something I hope the HD versions don't have in common with themselves either...

Just thought you guys might like to know, while downloading the extra missions for Sonic 06 from the Xbox Live marketplace last night and tonight, I noticed something different. They have just added the Sonic Unleashed demo which is free. I tried to download it but it said I run out of free space on which is BS, I have plenty of space.

Just thought I'll tell you guys so if anybody out there with a 360 and has Xbox Live can download it and have a look at it before thinking about purchasing it :)

They have just long ago added the Sonic Unleashed demo E3 footage which is free.

Fixed, I'd presume. Nobody on GameFAQs seems to be talking about a demo, so I've gotta assume you're looking at the trailer instead.

Empire City(360): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f1U7D-JlO8
OSNAP A CITY THAT ISN'T EITHER UNDER CONSTRUCTION OR TOTALLY DEMOLISHED

Aaand there's eight.  Whomever said that all eight zones would be trailer'd before the game's release ('cuz I don't care to look up who said it) was right.  Though, the Wii video again seems to strongly imply that there's multiple acts per stage ... I sure hope so, or else Sega once again has proven it's idiocy by revealing THIS MUCH of the game.

Just randomly throwing this out there: After noting that the Mazuri Day music has similarities to the S1GG end music, I'm going to throw out that the Apotos Day music has similarities to one of the Mean Bean Machine tracks.  I think the Genesis version, but I'm not sure.  Don't ask me which one, I haven't taken the time to figure that out yet....  <_<

Based on hands on impressions, I'm going to predict that SU will receive an average score of 7.5 give or take 3/4th a point. The day levels have received nothing put positive impressions so far. Based on game play footage, the were hog sections don't really look that bad at all. Competent but not stellar.

I'm expecting around 8.5 ... relative to other games in the series, this seems to be quite the improvement.  Only stat I've found so far is the user reviews on GameSpot, average user review of - get this - 9.0 for the Wii version.  Though I don't know if that opens before the game's release or not....

Anyone know if a TA mode is going to be in here?

or if it'll record your max rings/scores, like the SA games?

I've done a bit of reading, but it's all about the graphics and storylines... of which, I have no real interest... I'll be getting this game, it seems, JUST to TA it... and I'm cool with that...

It's been confirmed that Wii version is missing two stages: Empire City and Mizori. (post from someone else)

Gentlemen, the guide has been leaked onto the net with details on the Wii and PS2 versions and the news is grim on there. More on that later. For now, lets get to unlockables and the final boss!

[spoilers written in small font; copy/paste to see for yourself]
-Final Level: Eggmanland. It contains SEVERAL boss fights. First is Eggman in a mech. You fight him as the warehog. Next is a level where you fight Dark Gaia as normal Sonic, and finish it up with Super Sonic and a more powered up Dark Gaia. There might be some more in there.
-No Super Sonic in levels. But really, if it were, it would be purely cosmetic because of how fast he goes normally.
-Sun and Moon Emblems unlock Dark Gaia Gates, special levels where you can play as both Sonic and the Werehog. Nifty.

[spoilers]

And now for the bad news on the Wii and PS2 version. It seems the rumor that two levels were getting cut from it is true... and it's not just acts; WHOLE continents were removed. Specifically, it lacks all of Empire City (New York) and Mazuri (Africa). Those, as confirmed by the guide, are exclusive to the 360 and PS3 versions. Sorry guys.

And first three reviews.

Nintendo Power 8/10 Wii
Telegraph.co.uk: 5/10 360/PS3
Game Informer 6 & 6.75/10 Doesn't say which version. Second Opinion mentions both of them, though.

Interesting, no Empire City or Mazuri ... guess that's why those were the only two levels we hadn't seen in Wii trailers yet....  <_<
Either way, I'm vaguely disappointed by how these reviews seem to place a ton of emphasis on "werehog is bad".  That Telegraph one beat the living snot out of the game.

EDIT: Wait, are we SURE?  I was watching a bunch of gameplay videos, and while only Apotos gameplay is up, there were clips of three different hub maps: Apotos, Spagonia ... and MAZURI.  Where did this post come from?  Do you have a source?

oddly, I'm finding that, while I hate the whole "werehog" idea, the game's looking rather good...

I hate to be optimistic, but is it possible that this game won't suck?

Every review I've read so far cites that the werehog sections are the only down part.  And go to extreme lengths to state how much they REALLY REALLY REALLY LIKE the speed sections.  As in, there really seem to be NO PROBLEMS AT ALL with the running stages.  I like.  I like a lot.

Actually, the GI score was 6/6.5. The second score was for the Wii. Focused much of the review (and the score) around the were hog.
IGN gave this a 7.2 (Wii version).

There is a boss on Mazuri in the Wii but no stage, so I heard. I'll try to find a better source from someone who has the game. ... Buuuut you can see for yourself if it's true by seeing a gameplay walkthrough here! http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=SonicWorldAdventure&view=videos

That's actually the same channel that I made the assumption off of ... I had just watched Part 8, which contained a map and cutscenes of Mazuri.  I'll check this out later, because for some inexplicable reason YouTube is being painfully slow at home.
And yes, I was watching parts 1 through 8, it looks like *POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

there are multiple acts per zone indeed, but most need a number of tokens to be unlocked

*END SPOILERS*

EDIT: And Chip doesn't sound NEARLY as grating as the Japanese version.  He actually sounds decent here, and I'm actually amused by his frequent references to chocolate.

As I've said in chat, Sonic Team managed to make a not only decent but great character for once. Heck, as far as personality and character development (albeit due to the "amnesia" easy cop-out), Sonic and Tails have nothing on Chip in this game. AND he does comic relief, either as part of the story or in the background while other characters talk. They've finally learned that decent animation isn't just talking and the occasional short-and-fast action.

As for the game it's decent, but knowing that it could once again have been twice as good if the controls were right (how hard can it be to copy from a previous game and make small adjustments based on the level design?), it's another disappointment for me.
