@ eggFL: I have a lot of respect for you, but counting Sonic Rush as one of the worst games of all time without having ever played it is totally unfair! There are games you can judge about without playing and seeing a few gameplay footage is enough, like "Sonic Sinks to the Level of Mario at the Olympic Games", which is probably my most hated game of all time. There are also games that one simply doesn't like, like me don't liking sport games. But for a Sonic-Fan like you, Sonic Rush is a game that you really have to experience before judging. I'm not saying you will definately like it, but you just can't hate it without playing.

Hi yse!

What I meant by that is that there are games by which you can tell that you don't like them by just seeing a little bit of it, because its not your type of game. Not only is a "mini-gamical-sports-game" never ever my type of game, but this Olympic Games thing also reduces Sonic's Class and it's as if Sonic would knee down in front of shitty Mario-sport-spin-offs. I already had a very long discussion about this with eggFL in a different topic. Now, Sonic Rush can also be a game that you can tell that you don't like by only seeing a little bit of it, if you are in general not a fan of Sonic-games after Sonic Adventure. But you really won't get to know the true essence of Sonic Rush without playing it yourself and especially getting some S-ranks and doing some time-attack. I think as someone who has enjoyed recent Sonic games, you really can't judge Sonic Rush just by some trailers which don't show you anything interesting anyway. Sonic games are generally hard to judge about when you haven't really got into them.

There are so many tactical elements in the multiplayer, it's insane. Or just really intense and a good game that deserves all of its acclaim.

SkyLights mentioned Gears in another topic indicating that I'm perhaps not the only one here who appreciates the game.

Anyway I won't comment on my worst games... except that I really tried to like Oblivion. Sorry though.

Not So Decent Stories
The Zelda Series. In spite of the rampant insistance to the contrary, Zelda stories consist primarily of 3 or 4 one dimensional characters sent on a perpetual game of grabass across an oversized roundabout. I like the gameplay, music, and series as a whole, but the story? Not so much.

You once mentioned somewhere alse that you think Sonic Rush is principally just pressing forward. I don't think at all this is true, but even if it was, it's by far not as much as Sonic Advance 2. Then you should theoretically hate Sonic Advance 2 more than Sonic Rush. Am I right?

What valid reason is there for ZX (average review score of 7.9) being a crappy game that's *shudder* worse than Bomberman Act Zero (average review score of 3), a game that's widely considered one of the worst games ever and one of the worst 360 games? If anything, ZX is like a deeper version of the Zero series (except the sucky map system and being way too easy). Each form has several moves, including the signature moves of the characters the models are derived from.

Now that you mention it I am reminded quite clearly of the period of time where I didn't play Rush but was very skeptical about it based on my experience and opinion of the Sonic Advance games. You probably remember that, however like I said I actually got the game since then. And your theory sounds about right but I still probably hate Rush more on the basis that the story annoys me, and the soundtrack and style is even more decadent than the Advance games. Not to mention it's the Elitist's Choice.

You said it yourself, the sucky map system. The game is no longer a Megaman game but a terribly made poor man's Metroidvania... mixing inferior 2D gameplay but still managing to capture the confusion and inane searching of a 3D game. Also MMZ was more atmospheric and had a better style. Why wouldn't I just play that instead.
