I might pick up Sonic R but it isn't high up on my list. Anyway, welcome and hope you'll play some other Sonic games, as well :D

Thanks everyone. :)

I just wanna ask 2 questions now quick.

1) Does it matter what version of Sonic R I play? I'm playing the one on gamecube (On Sonic Gems or w/e), I don't have the computer version, so I hope that isn't needed. =/

2) Is proof a big issue where I need it if I get a top time and such?

Right now I'd have #1 on both Regal Ruins for Time Trials (3lap/flap), and if I have to I can try and make a video of it. :)

For 1: It doesn't matter. You can use either the Saturn version, the PC version or Gems Collection.

For 2: Proof is only needed if someone thinks you're cheating. It's good to have some for the case someone calls BS on you, but unless your stats are highly suspicious, you don't have to have proof.

For 3: EVERYBODY'S SUPAR SONIC RAICING!

Adding to number 1.

From what I've heard, the PC and Gems versions are the best ones to use.  The Saturn version seems to have the timer tick faster.

Just don't cheat, use any tools, hacks, etc., and don't just create a time to get in the lead. Almost 100% percent of fake stats are deleted, and a fraction of those are announced in the forum, resulting at half the people lecturing you, and the other half criticizing you.
So um, yah. You get the idea. Be an honest guy, and you get a good reputation (after several years <_<).

Nice vids, and thanks. :)

I use all the same strats for my times, but I haven't tried Reverse yet, and some of those strats were very interesting. Mostly jumping through barriers and such, probably would have never though of it myself.

It reminds me of a time I was playing Radical City and I went through a wall while playing regular Time Attack. I tried to do it again, but couldn't.

Welcome aboard dood. There's (mostly) cool doods here. At worst, we are extremely sarcastic when it comes to witty commentary. Don't cheat, lie, or copy RPG's welcome phrase or something bad will happen to you.

I once got out of Radical City as well, only in reverse. I didn't make any use of it though, like lap skipping, and I have not been able to recreate the glitch. :(

Hey there dude, welcome to TSC.

You dood's need to learn that RPG doesn't murder people anymore for saying that catch phrase. I think he stopped because every new guy was saying it like crazy or something. He even said it a couple topics back.

Lol Thanks =P

It helps that not everyone at the top has full sets of times, but I make up for that in a way because I'm useless at balloon mode. xD

I think today I will be making a time scroll (Just showing all my times on that time menu thingy). Hopefully in the future I can get some live videos, but I have no idea how to do that. Maybe by taping while I play, and then just going through the tape and recording on a camera at parts where I get good times.

I use my parents' DVD recorder for videos. GC out into a signal splitter, one output to the TV and one into the recorder. To avoid lags.

Also it's not that I demand proof. I just want to steal your rou... Maybe your videos "inspire" me. >.>

This is actually nice

most of the time when a new member comes out of the blue and completly dominates an entire game, we go "omg wtf we call bs" and it's not until much later that we learn they aren't full of bogus bananas

so yeah, proof is good

and not sure if I already posted this in this topic or not, but welcome to the site :)

Did someone mention glitches?

The reverse Radical City one is well-known, but I found another glitch.
When using the dash plate thing that costs 50 rings (or right after it), I fell through the floor
and out of the course. There's a weird hidden balloon or something around somewhere.
I did it several times, but then I couldn't do it anymore. I think I used Knuckles. Or maybe Metal Knuckles.

And recently, while doing reverse Regal Ruin, I hit the wall in the outside of the first turn
(after jumping up onto the ledge) and fell through into a different part of the course.
I didn't stay out of the walls, and I couldn't do it again. Keep in mind, however,
that I barely tried it, and I didn't spend long on RC either.
Inactive member, but still... occasionally... checks his private messages and aging (former) records in SA.

My first video, it obviously came out horrible, but it is still something.

Btw, just got 58.86 on Radical City reverse. B]

Hi, its Etch here and it is actually KMaCc who recruited me to try some sonic r myself.  I already got my first record here being Radiant Emerald reverse 3lap.  It could have easily been sub 2'16.  Still getting a full set here and it should be fun to try and push these times as fast as possible.

This is an awesome site!
