First things first, whats allowed and whats not.

The following list of Pokemon are BANNED.

- Level rounding will always be in effect for all Tournament matches.
- Using a Pokemon with an illegal moveset (Via AR) will result in instant disqualification from the entire tournament.

Failure to comply with this simple set of rules will result in an instant loss of the battle your involved in, regardless of the outcome, and a warning given. Except in the event of the final rule listed. Two warnings and your out the competition, simple stuffs.

For the battles themselves.

Battles will be fought on a best of 3 basis. Two singles, and then a double battle for the tiebreaker should both players have a win each.

A win earns a player 3 points, a draw earning both players 1 point and a loss scoring 0.
Draws forced by SelfDestructing/Exploding/Destiny Bonding/Perish Songing on the last Pokemon will be ruled as a victory in favour of the player who did not use said moves to force the draw.

ROUND ONE

Red line indicates those players who will be dropped after each person in the round has played everyone else in the group.

ZE RULES


#1. Levels are to be rounded to 50.

#2. Battle summaries are to be posted, at the minimum, all it needs to state is the Pokemon used by each player, and the order they were KOed, however feel free to go into greater depth.

#3. You may only use THREE of your Pokemon for the group stages. You are however permitted to change the three you use when fighting another player in the same group. The double battle tiebreaker matches will be fought with FOUR Pokemon.

After this is done, the player with the lowest amount of points overall will receive the booby prize. If multiple players are tied for this, there will be a mini play off for it.

Much the same as the last round, except with the following rules.

#1. You will now be use 6 in using every battle.

#2. Levels are to be rounded to 100.

#3. Battle summaries consisting of atleast the Pokemon used by both players and the order of Knockout.

I am proposing that before each battle, a coin is flipped by an independant sourve, and whomever calls the side that lands up gets to choose, but Ill add that to the rules shortly.

Ok, once we hit 16 players the Tournament will be underway, right after I set up the Round 1 bracket.

First and foremost, there are going to be prizes. :O

Now if I can get my hands on a Lugia, that will be the first place prize, and each of the other prizes will be moved down a place, and the 4th place prize will be no more~ Thereve been some pretty silly Lugia offers (Like one where the guy wanted a Probobass in return, which I only missed because GTS booted me off right as I hit trade on my Probopass >:(), but dont get your hopes up too high on that front.

Also why are we limited to the same 6 pokemon throughout the tournament? Shouldn't adaptability be rewarded? I can understand not wanting loads of counterpicking going on...but actually, I really can't! It adds more strategy to who gets chosen on both sides. Besides, someone might get stuck with a dud pokemon that they thought would be a more effective battler. At the very least, let us change our team every (x) battles or so.

And seeing as how the eevee evolutions are drastically different from each other, does the rule of one per family still apply?

I could see an exception for Eevees, but I'll let RPG answer that one. Besides, why would you use multiples from the same family without dupes, considering most of them are lower evolutions anyways? The only real exceptions I see to that would be using Magneton (still good in my eyes) and Magnezone, but even then that makes your team horridly weak to ground unless you invest a slot to Magnet Rise for both, which isn't really stellar.

Also there is variety in the opening rounds, since you can only use 3/6.

Also can you really call it a "dud" if it's good enough to make your team? I mean a smart person would cover all of their weaknesses. (Though admittedly, my NetBattle team can't handle Skarmbliss for shit.)

Consider this;

When you play through the game till after you have atleast beaten the elite 4, you tend to use only the same 6 pokemon (with minor exceptions) for the entire duration. So I decided to see how well thatd transend into a Tournament, and see if people can assemble killer squads.

Oh and I guess Eevee is an exception, its evolutions are mad different. Type wise anyway~

So does this mean you can have both split-evo's such as Gardevoir/Gallade and Poliwrath/Politoed

If that's the case then I've got a team. If not, well then, I'm going to have to raise a pokemon to defend against some of my current weaknesses

Because, Gallade and Gardevoir for one are VERY different, but the current rule permits that you cant use both.

So, all in favour of allowing all split evolution paths and not just eevee?
