Iwas watching SM's Glitch and Tricks video when he spindashed and then he homed onto the empty top of a building right after the area with the gold beetle. Is it a shortcut?

That segment was actually done by Cybrax.  You end up in an open, unpropelled fall, so I think it turns out a bit slower than a spindash or bounce down the building.
