Out of your current list, S3K, as he shows great potential in SADX and probably SA2 if he played it more often.

I think we should expand this for rookie of the years for the past years as well if the mods still remember some of the stuff that happened during those times. (Rookie of the year for 2003, 2004, and 2005)..
Ever know what its like to get pwned by a book? Sonic certainly does.

I might want to be included in rookie of the year for this year, since I never really "competed" when I first joined, and I didn't submit much of anything in 2005, and it was late in the year by then.  I joined on TSC's 2nd-year anniversary, BTW.

Even though I didn't register in 2006, I didn't actively compete until then.

Quartz has laid down some serious 2D pwnage, Aitamen has raped Sonic 2, and Paragod has taken TSC's longest standing record.  Tough call between those three, I'd say.
This topic has now been officially won by me.  Never mind, you might do better next time!

Since you're counting users by the year they joined, what happens to those who join at the very end of a year and doesn't seriously start competing until the next one? At the end of 2005 I had the championship for Sonic Chaos and a few orange's. I joined in November 05, so I wasn't even registered for most of the year!

If I'm going to be the rookie of any year, it'll be either 2006 or none at all, as in 2005 I wasn't all that good.

As a solution to this, it would make more sense to do the years after the date of TSC's birthday, similarly to how the periodical Top 10 did it. Now the rookie of 2005 would be decided based on their activity in the period between 10-23-04/05 and 2006 comes out as 10-23-05/06.

There's nothing controversial with this. I'm just bringing a suggestion on how you could make it better, that's all.

Now, do you think there's anything wrong with my suggestion?

If the end of 2005 is allowed then Psyknux should have a shot too.

I was thinking of a similar system.  Rankings for each year would always be based on January 1-December 31 of that year, but anyone who joined after a certain point (October 23 makes a good divider) has the option of counting the achievements they get by the end of the year or of deferring their eligibility until the next year.  If you just say that the timeframe shifts to 10/23-10/22, you run into the same problem, just timeshifted 2 months: someone who joins on 10/21 doesn't have time to do much until the window runs out.

What about a 2D and 3D division? a majorty of people here are better on one than the other, only a few people are good at both(mike, RPG, SM, probably a few more)

and what about stanski, he's raped S2 just as much as aitamen has time attack wise, it'd be a tough choice between  those 2 if it's decided to make a 2D division.

I'd say make an SA2(B) Ring Attacking division for people who joined in the last 2 monthes <_<
Current Championships: SSR (5/26/08-Now)
Current Leaderships: SSR Chains [0 Point], SC Rings [0 Point], SSR Scores [0 Point], S3D Rings [0 Point], SSR Times, SSR Bosses
Past Leaderships: SA2 Rings, S1GG Rings, SUWii Rings, SBK Times, SBK Chains, SRA Rings, SRA Scores

That's why you should rank users based on the date of their contributions and not their join date. If someone crosses the border and submits their stats near the end of the year then all of the users contributions should be counted on the year which they submitted most of their achievements on.

your doing alright, much better than me, looking at your emerald coast time, it took me around 5-10 hours of combined play over the course of probably 3 months to get 1:08, whereas you come out of nowhere getting 1:15 then 1:09- much faster than I could ever get it. (I say 3 months because at one point I moved onto S1 and SA2, and I didn't touch SADX at all then)

however breaking a ring record on a level like Big/icecap isn't such a big deal skill wise, just shows you have tons of patience and determination- both of which are very useful things to have but in this case doesn't make a great player if the level itself is already easy. Break alot of Sonic time attack records  though and i'll change my mind, and possibly my vote :P

Quartz, for beating the crap out of Advance 2/3.

I am also inclined to honorably mention Crowbar for being awesome at Rush Times competition, and SDM for being awesome at Rings/Scores as well.

Wouldn't it be better if you proceeded with the changes on the current one too?

You can delete the current poll and redo it with the new options, and maybe make it possible to change your vote. Add eredani, quartz and skylights to the list and remove the "can't decide?" option, as that is the same as a 'no vote'. You should state in the first post that you can't vote for yourself, and change the dates in the title to reflect the alterations if you want to.

Hmm, tis a tough one. I would say Groudon, due to the fact he has shown a lot of potential and video proof, plus the 8:44 Lethal Highway find.

Hm... let's see...

Paragod: Shows too much potential. Seriously, I personally think she'll win this award, because of how famous she has gotten in the past few months...

hm...

Aitamen: Aitamen is not just one aitaman! *shot* He's obviously good in S2. And...um... yeah. I don't know where he is nowadays, though.

hm...

Sonic3Knuckles: ...huh? I've never heard of this guy before. That's enough proof to say he shouldn't get the award.

hm...

Groudonman: lol. just lol.

* PsyBorg shot

Fine, fine, fine.... he's done some good things, as in he's... well... third place in Shadow, I guess. I'm still apalled at the fact that he just won't attempt to destroy records, though, because he's not half bad at Shadow. Despite his controversies (i.e. "arrogance", in whatever bad context that's supposed to be in, and his infamous record tie in Exception), he's a good player with a lot of motive. This doesn't really make him meet award criteria, however.

EDIT: Aha, new people...

PsyBorg: Underrated, but perhaps not as good as he thinks he is... Iunno. He's a good player in many games, it's just too bad that people think he's an ass or something.

Quartz: Cool guy... has shown a lot of potential, and has a championship. Yay.

Miles9999: See Sonic3Knuckles' description...

RingRush: Hasn't done anything yet, and only recently joined. Sorry kid, better luck next time.

Crowbar: Did good, but I haven't seem him around in a bit...

SDM: Good player, should probably get a championship some day if he keeps up the way he's playing. Calls for nice competition against me in S2006 boss records.

hm... and the winner is...

...nobody. You're all good in your own way. Let's all shut up and continue to break more records.
