Forum migrated to SMF 1.1
« on: April 10, 2006, 05:44:56 am »
Which means the forums now finally share skins with the site, along with some other neat perks. A few things remain to be straightened out and nicified; I'll poke around at it tomorrow. If you find any problems or suggestions, post them.

Update: In User Settings there's an option to make the forum look more like a forum and less like TSC.

1. Wtf lol centre'd.

2. There are oftimes bits of text that aren't on a coloured background. On the forum index, the forum group titles aren't, and apart from on the index and the Post reply pages, the directory listing above (where it is all Forum - Welcome Center - News and Updates etc.) isn't on a solid background. This means that the text gets eaten by the background image. :(

I can think of a couple things.

1. Permissions BS - Spaceship Users can only view five of the forums.

2. <CosmicFalcon> Also you have text that like... isn't on nice bgcolor'd content boxes, which has a liability to get consumed by the background image. <- wtf but I'm sure you'll understand.

3. Is there any way of adjusting your profile? I see "Account-related Settings", but that's not what I'm looking for (I'm thinking timezones, avatar settings etc.)

Also it would seem that the forum still thinks there are emoticons, but you've baleeted them or something. But typing colon-open bracket makes it try to put an emote in. :(

1. Where's the link to the PMs!

2. The expand button at the top left doesn't do anything.

3. Fix JavaScript on my skin!

4. The "Recent Articles" are broken in most skins, while the newest article on the front page is broken in my skin.

5. Talking about my skin, I just finished the forum CSS so that there aren't no-bg stuff and quotes and codes actually have borders and other stuff. However since this forum is horribly coded >:(, I couldn't do everything, so polls and the top header of a topic don't have borders. Anyway just to say that you can take the CSS from my skin to fix some stuff on the other ones rolko.

And also:

Quote
[12:02] F-Man: heh CF's sig isn't the only thing not correctly aligned
[12:03] F-Man: report to admin links and quote|modify|delete buttons are also aligned left when they should clearly be on the right
[12:03] F-Man: and there doesn't seem to be any markup nor CSS that contradicts it...
[12:18] F-Man: ahah lol it's because of form *
[12:18] * F-Man loves WD extension
[12:18] * F-Man fix
[12:19] F-Man: er fuck how am i going to fix that >_>
[12:20] F-Man: oh i know
[12:20] F-Man: the submission form needs an id, then we reference to it instead of any form
[12:20] F-Man: you better be taking notes rolko!!

This is going to take some getting used to.

Particularly since in Topic view the little folder things are like not in a table so they're placed right on (and blending into) the background.

Also I haven't used SMF before. >_>

Also mike I think you would be looking for "Forum Profile Information" and "Look and Layout Preferences."

And yay totally cool Stardust proto on boards now.

Just is there a way to change those silly buttons at the top to the ones we had just for comedy "they look better" option?

I assumed everyone would prefer the SMF buttons over mine, but if that's not the case, I can switch them back.

Ok I just fixed most of the CSS except for the aligment bug. Rolken add a 'statsubmit' id to the submission form and then change references to 'form' in the css to '#statsubmit' and it'll be fixed. ;(

I'm used to this forum system as Concept Mobius uses it and I like it. I have also kind of lost my fancy for Invision Power, so this is a nice change.

I hear that. All of everywhere uses IPB. And I mean all. Of everywhere.
